Look Who is 5!

My firstborn turned five years old at the end of July.  I am so late getting pictures posted.
He wanted a Spiderman birthday this year:)
 He absolutely loved his cake!
I still just cannot believe how big this kid is getting.  He does so many things on his own and I hate to say he is needing me less and less as the days go by.
He loved his balloons almost as much as his presents:)
The birthday boy with mom and dad.
This was his favorite present.  A "fast" scooter.  The best part is that the wheels light up when it rolls....he thinks it is the coolest thing ever!  We quickly learned he needed some knee and elbow pads after a few nasty falls so now he looks even cuter scooting around outside.
He requested to go bowling for his birthday since he had never been before.  The boys had fun, but Tyson lost interest pretty quickly.  He wanted to go to the arcade instead of bowl!
Jace on the other hand just loved it.  He was so cute toting his ball around that weighed as much as he did!  They did love the lights since it was cosmic bowling that night.  Overall we had a fun day celebrating Tyson and the sweet boy he is.  Happy Birthday Tyson!

First Day of School

The boys and their teachers have survived their first few days of school!!
They are loving it so far and hopefully we will all be on a good routine soon.
I am thrilled to finally be settling down and finding some kind of regular schedule.
Tyson has a great class and already knows almost half the kids in his room from either church or our Bible study group last year.  So far I think his favorite part of school is getting to eat his lunch in the cafeteria:)
Jace will most likely be the kid who makes his teacher earn her pay.  That kid is so head strong and independent and refuses to conform to a mold.  He is so smart and knows just what he likes and doesn't, which I am sure will present a few challenges along the way this year!  We are praying for him to have a cooperative and teachable spirit in the classroom:)   Overall we are all super excited about the school year and it is off to a good start.  And yes, the boys went right in their rooms just fine on the first day, and I made it back to my car before I got a little teary eyed realizing just how grown up my little guys are getting.  It has definitely been one of those weeks in life where I am reminded how fleeting seasons can be and not to blink because they really do grow up fast.

Cousin Camp 2012-Arkansas

We had a great time hosting Cousin Camp in Jonesboro this summer.  It has taken  me forever to get these pictures posted!
We packed the boys into one room and they had fun camping all over the place:)
We did several crafts and made memory books/journals for each camper.
We took a trip to the nature center and had fun exploring inside and out, hiking the trails, and watching the fun movie about our area.
All the campers at the Nature Center.
Silas and the others working hard on our family hand print canvas project.
Tyson, Danny, Tristan, Kennedy and Hayden before church on Sunday.
Me and my fabulous sisters-in-law:)
The younger campers enjoying a meal together.

We also had fun swimming and going to the water park together, along with singing, devotionals, and lots of playing outside and visiting.  My boys were exhausted after a fun filled time with family and we were so happy to be able to have everyone in our home:)
